Discussion on the Solitary Pulmonary Nodule (SPN), management, and effective lung cancer screening strategies.

Learning Objectives:
·    Recommend indications for testing and follow-up pulmonary nodules. 
·    Develop a differential diagnosis of pulmonary nodules. 
·    Illustrate the characteristics of suspicious pulmonary nodules on CT scan.
·    Identify who needs referral based on CT scan findings to a pulmonologist.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Dr. Brietta Forbes is an internal medicine hospitalist for TeamHealth Hospitalist Group in Olathe, Kansas and is board certified in Internal Medicine. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2013 and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Kansans. She is currently completing a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine with the University of Kansas and is an active member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the American College of Physicians and Phi Beta Kappa.
