Attorneys often overlook the effect of vocal inflection, body language, and facial expression on a judge or jury’s perception of meaning. David Mann is a speaker, trainer, and professional actor/director. He has spoken and conducted workshops at General Mills, Boston Scientific, Mosaic, Merrill Lynch, HealthPartners, Mayo Health System, The Hartford, and many other companies. He has a specialized focus on persuasive presentation for lawyers, and he is on the faculty of NITA (National Institute for Trial Advocacy) and Loyola School of Law.

David’s principles of engagement through communication were instrumental in achieving a #1 ranking for General Mills’ Minnesota manufacturing facility and for the 30% sales increase achieved by The Hartford’s Middle America division. As a trainer, speaker, and performer, David has been featured in The New Yorker, Village Voice, The Business Journal, and Minnesota Business.

A professional theater artist for over two decades, David has performed or directed for the Guthrie Theater, The Children’s Theatre Company, Great River Shakespeare Festival, and many others. He has written and performed five critically acclaimed one-man shows, and he is a recipient of a Bush Artist Fellowship for Storytelling. As a commercial actor, David was the spokesman for Midwest Wireless phones for six years, and has appeared in television and radio commercials locally and nationally. David is a graduate of Northwestern University, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

David lives in St. Anthony, Minnesota with his wife and two sons.
