When you first look at Shopping Empires website, the sales page will confuse it. The same happened to me. I was confused whether it was just a guide for setting up your Shopify or Woocommerce store or a course with the setting up part and some modules on advertising.

Gagnon hasn’t even described the modules in-detail, so until you don’t buy the course, you won’t get access to the topics. But don’t worry about that because I have got you covered.

Who is Shopping Empires for?

Shopping Empires is an ideal course for anyone who wants to enjoy financial freedom. Her course offers some sensible advice but it is unnecessarily expensive.

Who is Karianne Gagnon, The Founder of Shopping Empires?

Not much is known about Karianne Gagnon, but I do know that she runs several six-figure dropshipping businesses that consistently make $1,000 daily. She is 25 years old and started her business after enrolling into the eCom Profit Masterclass course by Franklin Hatchett. Gagnon is originally from Quebec, Canada but now lives in the United States.

After she graduated college, she started working at a hotel but it wasn’t a well-paying job and Karianne was in a $40,000 debt. That’s when she decided to turn her life around, and in October 2017, she started learning about Facebook Ads and dropshipping. In only a month, she made $700,000 in revenue from two of her main stores. But only after running it successfully for three months, both stores stopped making money, which prompted her to try out Google Ads. It worked like magic for her and for the past two years, she has been living her dream life through dropshipping.
Her course takes the focus away from Facebook Ads because she thinks that’s no marketing strategy better than Google Shopping Ads. You will also find some information here and there on Shopify and Woocommerce.

On the course website, you won’t see any screenshots highlighting the profits she made but only the revenue. It would be more convincing to see the breakdown of the revenue, expenses that she incurred to sell her products, and the actual profit she made. She claims to make anywhere between $700 and $5,500 every day in profits.

What is Included in Shopping Empires?

The course doesn’t include any videos but 22 long PDF documents divided among the ten modules. It is a fairly short course for the price Gagnon charges you. Let’s take a look at what is included in every module of the course.

Preparations

After a quick introduction of the course, Karianne moves onto the different things you require to start your dropshipping business, including domain, logo, business name, business email, and choosing between Woocommerce and Shopify.

She establishes the pros and cons of using both platforms, but since her Shopify websites got taken down, she is more in favor of Woocommerce. I completely agree that personal experiences change your point of view, but she could have been unbiased.

Woocommerce store setup

In Module 2 – Woocommerce store setup, you get access to five PDF documents that cover a number of topics including hosting, theme, plugins, final touches and optimization, and product upload.

It is pretty common stuff, and I am far from impressed. Gagnon’s content is pretty limited, which I feel doesn’t justify the high course fees she is charging.

Shopify setup

Module 3 is very similar to Module 2 but written for Shopify. To be honest, this isn’t the type of content you want to be paying money for. You can easily find all this information, including themes, plugins, and setting up your Shopify store for free on YouTube or the official Shopify website.

Website speed

It is a small section but raises some good points. All of us know how important website speed is for retaining clients. If a website takes more than 2.5 seconds to load, website visitors are going to be bored and leave. In this course, you will get to learn how to increase website speed and how to use feedback to do the same.

Product Research

Module 5 is the most important part of the course because if you can’t find good products, you what will you sell? Gagnon introduces you a method called Winners Trailing Method, which she developed after a lot of trial and error. According to her, it is the most efficient method to find winning or golden products, but I beg to differ.

It is a good method, but it will not work with all niches, so I won’t call it foolproof. You get access to three PDF documents on topics including winners trailing method, video examples and Q&A, and feedback on the product research method.

Data Feed

The Data Feed Module focuses on two simple by important topics data feed watch and setting up a merchant center. I didn’t expect much from this module because both topics are technical. This is the kind of information that is readily available on the internet.

Google Shopping Ads

This brings us to the module that I was the most curious and excited about. It focuses on seven important topics related to Google Ads including setting up an account, setting up a general campaign, bidding levels, how to monitor your campaign, leading standalone campaigns, how to monitor ads efficiently, and conversion pixel.

The module has a few good points, but most of the content is pretty generic. I was disappointed because the hype that Gagnon creates from the beginning is for nothing. Let’s move onto the next modules.

Test Yourself

Another module with two PDF documents, Test Yourself, allows you to verify the things you learned throughout the course. At the end of the module, Gagnon gives a strong and important message that one should never stop trying out new things because you never know when something clicks.

Both the PDF documents are worksheets that will help you during the test.

Calculate Profits

Making revenue is easy, but you should aim for a high net profit. She goes in detail about Order Metrics, which works on both, Shopify and Woocommerce. It isn’t too expensive and calculates net profits pretty accurately. Some of the metrics that the software records include revenue, cost of goods, transaction fees, foreign currency, refunds, monthly fees, ad spent, and taxes.

It automates only a small part of your business but saves a lot of time that you would have to spend to calculate your profits.

Scaling with VA’s

Gagnon firmly believes that you should hire virtual assistants only when you are making enough profits every day, and I have to agree with her. The course creator tackles three topics under this section, including how to scale your store on Google, the best place and method to hire virtual assistants, and team software to make workload.

I liked this module, but part of the content was unnecessary. Gagnon tends to focus more on things to do after building a successful store and not much on how to market and advertise your products.

Five bonuses included in this course are:

Other than these, you also get access to the closed Facebook group run by Karianne. When I visited the website, a few more bonuses are soon going to be introduced. It included an introduction to Karianne’s Private Suppliers, Bing Ads, and ROAS Bidding Campaigns.

Personal Experience With Shopping Empires

This brings me to the section that you are waiting for since the beginning. If I have to review this course in one line, I would have it is a mildly beneficial course but not worth your money. It is no way worth $997 and I have four reasons to support my statement.

Firstly, no beginner’s dropshipping course should charge so much. No one that kind of money to invest in something they aren’t a 100 percent confident. Secondly, the course is too short. You can easily finish it in a week. If you are paying so much, you should get more content, which is supported by examples and case studies.

My third argument is that this course is a PDF course. Reading can be boring and isn’t convenient because you can’t study while travelling. If the course is offered as a video series, you can watch it while travelling, waiting for your friend to come, cooking, or getting ready. Lastly, the course is all over the place. No two modules connect with each other, and the endings are very unfinished.

Karianne should have made two separate courses, one on Shopify and the other on Woocommerce dropshipping. Mixing the two has only complicated things for the learners.

Shopping Empires Work Scam?

Nope, Shopping Empires is not a scam however, there are definitely better courses out there you can get like eCom Elites.

Is there a Discount Code?

Shopping Empires Work Final Verdict

Putting $997 in a beginner’s course is a sheer waste of money, especially when you can find a more detailed and insightful course for more than $200. These courses offer over 100 videos and supporting documents, which makes the initial journey super convenient.

When compared with eCom Elites, you save $797, which you can use to buy a domain name, website hosting services, automation tools, and Facebook marketing and still save a lot of money.

Shopping Empires Alternative

One of the best and most affordable drop shipping / eCommerce courses out there that I love is eCom Elites. It’s by Franklin Hatchett, who is one of the first people to actually get drop shipping popular, he makes 7 figures online from various businesses, not just e-commerce. Franklin constantly updates his courses so, they aren’t out of date.

I have been dropshipping for a long time and I have built profitable stores (I currently do affiliate marketing though) and this course is for someone whos a complete beginner all the way UP to Advanced dropshippers like me, it has definitely helped me increase my eCommerce income before. I don’t do dropshipping anymore because I am focused on affiliate marketing.
